How do I set up my new site while my old site is still active?
Every Evolution Hosting sign-up creates two domain name entries: the one you register (e.g. www.mydomain.com) and a migration domain name. The migration domain name simply appends 'ejip.org' to your domain name. For example, if you register 'www.mydomain.com', the migration domain is 'www.mydomain.com.ejip.org'. The migration domain name is always active and immediately available after sign-up, so you can use Evolution Hosting right away even if your domain is currently in use and hosted elsewhere.

What are the Evolution Hosting DNS servers?
There are two Evolution Hosting DNS servers. These are the names and IP addresses to be used during domain registration.

Which registrar does Evolution Hosting recommend?
You are welcome to use any registrar you choose. The original Internet registrar is Network Solutions. Since so many domains are registered with Network Solutions we provide special instructions below on how to update Network Solutions registrations.

Evolution Hosting, however, recommends registering with Register.com Domain Names. Register.com has a very good DNS administration tool. Network Solutions has a poor administration tool so we recommend against using them.

How do I register my new domain name?

1. Click on Register.com
2. Complete the 6 steps to purchase your domain name.
3. After receiving Register.com's confirmation click on Register.com's Manage My Account and log in.
4. Select Modify DNS
5. Replace all existing names with the two Evolution Hosting DNS names, dns1.Evolution Hosting and dns2.Evolution Hosting. Click 'Yes' to proceed.
6. Validate the changes and click 'Yes' to confirm. You will be sent e-mail with a confirmation URL.
7. Check your e-mail and follow the instructions to verify the changes with the URL supplied.
8. Your updated domain registration will take up to 72 hours to propagate throughout the Internet.

How do I update my Network Solutions registration?

1. Click on Network Solutions
2. Click on 'Manage Account'.
3. If you have an Account Number/Login then login. Older domains may not have an Account Number/Login so use the second method: Enter the domain name to manage and click 'Go'.
4. Select the form 'I want to transfer my domain name to another ISP' and click 'Go'.
5. Enter an active e-mail address that matches the one Network Solutions has on file for the administrative or technical contact for this domain name (help is available on this web page). Enter the domain name of the site to change and click "Go".
   Please note that if you set up another security method such as userid / password (CRYPT-PW) then that is the authentication method you should use.
6. Change the following fields in the form:

   Primary Server Hostname:	dns1.Evolution Hosting
   Primary Server Netaddress:	64.78.181.6
   Secondary Server Hostname:	dns2.Evolution Hosting
   Secondary Server Netaddress:	64.78.181.10

   These should be the only server hostnames listed.
7. Click on 'Submit this form for processing'.
8. Check your e-mail for the 'Modify Domain Form' from Network Solutions.
9. Verify the changes in the form are correct.
10. Reply to the e-mail to begin the update process. Note that the e-mail must be sent from the e-mail address that Network Solutions recognizes as being authorized for the domain. Please note that if you set up another security method such as userid / password (CRYPT-PW) then that is the authentication method you should use.
11. Your updated domain registration will take up to 72 hours to propagate throughout the Internet.
